Great idea!  I just picked an 88' off of some hippies for $150.00 with a blown motor.  The same day I found a crashed 94' Geo Prism with a 4AFE and swapped the motor in...  It runs great but there are issues since the vacuum circuits are completely different between the old and new engine.  At any rate, I can't wait to get mine in some snow to see how the AWD does.

The 4WD is awesome in the snow. Make sure you have plenty of gas in the tank because you will not want to stop drifting!

Nice to see that there is a place just for us, although there aren't too many of All-Trac owners anymore.   Interesting, is it just me or does the All-Trac seem be have some sort of renaissance?  There seems to be more interest in them lately.

I noticed that when one goes to "alltracwagon.net", there is a message from your hosting company that makes it appear that this site is still under construction, and not ready for use.  Furthermore, there is no link to the forums from that
front page.  This situation may result in reducing traffic to this site, which would limit the membership and postings herein.

Yeah, we're still working on an index page to compliment the forums. I'm posting a stopgap tonight as a temporary fix. Sorry for the confusion...

Thanks for your suggestion!

A quick question: Weren't the Camrys in wagon form like the Corollas? I've seen some Camry ATs but not many Corollas.

I just have a Celica AT...

A rumor exists that some All-Trac Camry wagons were produced concurrently with the sedans, but it has never been substantiated. To my knowledge, the only AWD Camrys manufactured were in four-door form from '88-91.

yeah big-ups to our administrator...Good set - up. I'm sure this website will enjoy some slow burn type growth.
The AE95 SR5, 4wd corolla wagon, Carib, AllTrac, Tercel or what ever you call it in your country, is a good platform as far as versatile vehicles go.

For modifiers & home car builders, it's got a lot of potential.

I wonder if the pics is your Sprinter Carib?  A sweet-looking wagon, I'll say . . .
Now where can I get some of those accessories, like that front light bar, that roof rack and rear spioler, those alloy wheels, and those window deflectors?

nah mate... Wish it was mine.... the all-black thing is a pretty cool look. Mines just a well loved base model - no frills power steering, rear speakers or anything..

So they're all good question you asked. I guess the first thing you can do is start finding all the toyota or jap wreckers in your surrounding area.

For instance tomorrow I'm doing quite a long drive cause I've found some performance headers in a scrap yard for about $33 -  Usually they cost around $120  & seeing as my leaky axhaust manifold is the only thing worng with my car (apparently a common problem) I figured I might as well order the new gasket, change the exhaust header over & do a complete oil & spark plug change.

My car runs fine but hasn't been serviced in over 2 years so I'm expecting to see a 10-15% performance increase..

I wonder if there is a site for buying Sprinter Carib parts instead of AllTrac parts?  They should cross fit each other, but the Sprinter Carib seems the way to go.

my leaky axhaust manifold is the only thing wrong with my car (apparently a common problem)

My exhaust manifold is cracked as well -- very common among OEM exhaust manifolds in general no matter what the make or model -- but the car should run fine if the crack is minor.  Even a major crack would reduce the air flow over the oxygen sensor but shouldn't change the amount of oxygen the sensor reads.   I think the only reason to be concerned about a cracked exhaust manifold is that it could leak odorless, colorless toxic exhaust gases into the car's interior.

If I'm not mistaken the car requires a certain amount of 'back pressure' to operate properly, so a badly cracked manifold or perhaps a completely worn out gasket between the block and the manifold could cause larger problems that would stem from improper EGR sensor readings caused by a lack of pressure. I'm not 100% sure though.

I think thats the source of my current poor idle, my exhaust is in awful shape. I'm going to take it in soon and I'll update this thread if I notice an improvement in gas mileage or idle performance.

Mine used to do the occasional backfire inside the exhaust manifold ..... Yeah definitely put a new manifold on...it might cost a bit but you'll make gains in fuel efficiency in the long run. It's also healthier for you & your car
