The All-Tracs (at least the Corolla ones) came with 13" rims. Unfortunately, the trend in the automotive industry is to move toward larger rims with tires with smaller aspect ratios.  The advantage of getting a larger rim size is that there are more choices of tires from which to choose.

What sort of rims/tires can I use on a Corolla All-Trac?
What is the largest reasonably-sized tire/rim set I can use?

I was originally looking at 14" rims (probably just plain steel rims and not fancy alloys).

i recently saw one on craigslist for sale with stock '96-7 Corolla rims, which are 14s. You could probably get away with those or something aftermarket in a 13" size like AREs...

Yes, there is a guy selling an 1992 All-Trac near where I live, and he has 14" 1998 Corolla rims on his.
I usually get my tires from Costco; my local Costcos only sell Michelin tires in size 14" and up; no 13" tires.

My first post!

I recenly aquired a set of 14" aluminum wheels off a 2005 Kia Rio. They look quite similar to a Matrix wheel, have the right offset and look good. I simply blacked out the Kia emblem and replaced it with chrome Toyota logos off of some old hubcaps.
I put a  set of Toyo Tourevo LS tires on, 185/70x14 and notice  a very slight difference  in the gearing. It seems a little slower through the gears but is actually better geared for highway. Strangely enough, the speedo is now bang on according to my GPS.  I wouldn't go too much larger unless you have the extra power needed to turn the tires.

Nice idea.  I'll look around for some 14" alloy or aluminum rims.  going to 14" should greatly increase the choices I have for tires.

I have a couple more cosmetic tweaks and then photos are on the way!

This is my third Alltrac. My first was an 89 that I let go at 400,000 kms in 1997. I still see it running around!  I have two 92's, one with 318,000 km's with an imported from Japan engine with less than 80,000 kms and the other with 218,000 kms. I have recently restored the latter  with all new body panels and suspension. The paint was done in August.  I love this car and wife thinks I'm  nuts for it. I have the luxury of having a close buddy who is an experienced Lexus/Toyota mechanic who knows the car inside and out. I use Lucas oil throughout and can attest to its effectiveness.

I'm pleased to have found this forum and appreciate your effort.

From where did you get the body panels?

I am thinking of painting mine myself (I have the equipment finally); do you have a recommended paint brand? I've heard good things about Sherwin-Williams.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I'm told I am crazy to put time and money into such an old car.  Can't wait for those pics.

My old man says the same about wasting money on this type of car..but call me crazy...this little car impresses me & I know it's capable of more with a few well planned wod's.. he keeps saying I should look at a toyota 4runner but I reply that it's got a lot to do with personalising a car that you really like in the first place.

Update Update Please! Pics???

Hey I know the AE95's standard rim size is 13 in" ...does anyone know what the overall wheel size when fitted with the factory tyre??

I need this info because I've been researching all terrain tyres & the few that I can find within a reasonably suitable range are made to fit 14 in" rims.

In the state of Victoria Australia we're only allowed to increase the overall wheel size by 25mm

Just put in the tire size here. http://www.club80-90syncro.co.uk/Syncro_website/TechnicalPages/TRC%20calculator.htm
you mostly will want to know the dynamic rolling radius. however, the wheel offset and width will be hard to judge for clearance.
