So, it is possible to do this swap in an All-Trac wagon?  I thought it was said that the drivetrain might not be able to handle the stresses from a more powerful engine...

Possible even with a blacktop. I think these transmissions are pretty tough, I read that they were derived from the all-trac celica and should be able to handle a bit of gentle use. This is a particularly sweet looking car. http://www.carsales.com.au/all.....0wagon&trecs=230.

Wow, that white one is absolutely beautiful. I wish I was a richer man I'd have that thing on a boat to Vancouver Canada ASAP!!! =)

Mustang Connection, the place where my Carib was imported from was adament that you could not swap motors in this thing, this thread has given me new hope.

I'm sure its going to cost me a decent chunk of money because I can't do the work myself, but I'm very happy to know its possible for the future. I'm sure it would require a transmission/transfer case rebuild, possibly a 'beefup' at key power transfer points so you're not breaking things all the time?

Intersting engine bay shot - that's actually a blacktop not a silvertop ...

Interesting set up he's running there... Look at the funny air type chamber before the plenum with the 2 air hoses coming out of it.

Love to know what he's doing there.....

Corolla 4wd??? Does such a thing even exist???!
