I have an 89 Corolla All-Trac that I need to get out of my driveway. The car is driveable (it just came back from a 3000km trip to the East Coast) but my wife thinks it isn't safe, so now it is becoming a parts car. I have a neighbour that would love to scrap it in his wrecking yard but I would prefer that someone take it that likes these great vehicles as much as I do. The body is in pretty rough shape, especially around the back end, but there are a lot of good parts left on it. I don't want to sell it piece by piece, but if someone is willing to come to Eastern Ontario, maybe we can make a deal. I am the second owner of the car..it has 417,000km on the original engine and clutch! I'm asking $300 o.b.o.

I also hope someone buys it . No sense in scrapping a drivable vehicle, especially one as unique as our A-Ts. |

Is that old gem a standard or automagic trans? It's the same color as my Carib, and I'll do my best to see that it doesn't go to scrap. I have 2 of them myself, one for parts and a buddy of mine has one, plus I know another local guy who could use parts from it. We'd just cannibalize it over time. I hope you haven't scrapped it already..... |

I'd love to have it, but kind of far away (you're in Canada?). Is it still drivable? if anything, maybe you can give it to a charity? |

Hi folks, Just thought I'd mention that guys like Steve are a credit to the human race. Here's a gentleman who truly appreciates the "car guy" mentality. He had enjoyed this car for 12 years and passed it on - free of charge I must mention - so at least parts of it can continue on. We all know how rare these cars are, and scrap yards here, crush them almost immediately if 20+ years old.
So, hats off to Steve. Doing what it takes to keep these gems on the road !!

I'm glad the wagon has a chance to live on, even as a donor to other All-Tracs! |

Do you have the car now? I'm just wondering since I am very much in need of a part if this one is being parted out. PM me or post a reply if any of it is available as I'd love to grab a few parts, chiefly the front drive shaft. Thanks! |

If you end up parting it out, you could post here, I'm sure you'll get some bites from us I'm hoping to buy another All-Trac wagon someday just to have an "extra" around... need a headlight, sun visor, sensor, whatever, it's right there in my backyard |

Thanks riffraff,
I'm located in San Francisco, and I found a parts seller that has the correct sized new universal joints for the driveshaft. I'm hoping now that its just a matter of receiving them and installing them, but I'm so busy that I won't be able to do it for another week and a half. I'm hoping that solves the rattle below, but if I do indeed need the shaft parts I will let you know soon.
I also wouldn't mind having that trunk cover (my AT didn't sell with one) if you've got a spare you're willing to let go of. |

Out of curiosity, how much were those universal joints you bought? Part #s? And how do you know if they're going bad? I've noticed since I bought my wagon, occasionally when I shift gears (mostly at slower speeds) I will hear a low clonking sound from the back. Would that be the universal joints being worn? |
