Here is some pics of my "different" wagon that i built entirely myself from scratch except for paint and panel and some minor metal fab work. My entire build thread with detailed info and pics can be found on Toymods. Unfortunately you will have to log into the forum to see my wealth of information. http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=28002

I originally saved the poor old ae95 from the wrecking yard and paid a tidy $500aud for it.

As you can see it was pretty rough.. it didn't even drive... clutch was completely worn out.

I have successfully completed the 4agze engine conversion myself with a few minor modifications.. All in all, it is a bolt in affair using the original gearbox.

Add black window tint, some new wheels and replace every single exterior window mold/surround/rubber with brand new toyota parts (ex Japan = big$$), and you have your self a tidy jacked up AE95

Because low is the way to go, the next thing to do was to drop it off at a mini trucking place to get some fab work done

Next, work out your heights and modify to suit

Get the exhaust modified to suit new "height settings"

I showed my girlfriend and I might have changed her mind a little bit about the potential of this wagon of mine, she said 'Ooooh thats a nice car!' =) MAYBE I SHOULD KEEP HER AFTER ALL!

The Girlfriend I mean, the car stays for sure.

Kebin: Was the hood a custom fab, or did you snag it off of another car and modify it?

I get a stack of funny looks.. usually its at the lights when i look in my rear view mirror behind me i usually see clueless expressions of people trying to work out what car i have (i deleted all badges/stickers) or people pointing and laughing at my little ninja turtle Michelangelo which replaces the rear wiper and spins when i turn the rear wipers on... very amusing

Heres a pic proving the versatility of our wagons... i bought a solid timber 2m long low line tv entertainment unit a while back... wagon doesn't skip a beat

ROFL -- I didn't see the TMNT on there before!     And I agree, these wagons are pretty awesome haulers.  I just wish the roof rack was standard on all of these, or at least easier to find.

The more I see your paint deco, the more I'm thinking it will be what I do with my wagon someday.  The only thing is, I love taking mine off-road... so I'm not sure I want to do a super bodywork / repaint job on my wagon, other than that damnable dent on the rear (in my avatar).  I like that you have that white (?) line separating the red & black.  My friend says I should paint my whole wagon black, since I have such dark tinted windows (really close to yours).  I would look badass, but being in Florida, it gets hot as hell out here, and this is my daily driver for the most part... nothing like getting cooked in an all-black car   But the AC does work, so I don't know, lol...

If you wagon is a bit of a bush basher then i say paint it matte black and run a red pinstripe down the side like i have. My pinstripe is actually reflective vinyl sticker not painted... so it stands out like anything in low light.

Hmmm the wagz is in storage atm. Concentrating on building my workshop and messing with 1jz's for my other wagon

Nowadays with the coatings they have, you can do a little bush bashing and not worry too horribly much unless you're breaking sticks on your way. =P

It was the first snowfall of the year today, traffic is a nightmare EVERYWHERE. Someone on the way home tried to flag me AWAY from a hill saying 'I couldn't make it up (Points at his little Chevy S10 stuck sidways) you better not go!!'

I've got studded snow tires, so I just giggled a little and rolled up the hill in 2nd gear! =) HOWEVER, With a 4AGZE in there I would have to be quite a bit more careful in the snow and ice I think!

I've read that you can set up a switch for the magnetic supercharger clutch  -unconfirmed-

OR there's the ability to have some control over what rpm's it kicks in at.

Kebin ... do you know?

For snow & steep winding muddy roads I'd like to have the option of just using that funny ratioed 1st gear without the sc kicking in...

I better learn more about this cause it's an important part of keeping the car versatile..

BTW Can U post pics of your studded tyres?

Yes the supercharger can be rewired via a switch... infact im running a 1ggze (for now ) in my daily corona wagon and i have a switch inline off the wire which triggers the supercharger clutch. That way i can cruise around town with it off etc.

Videos of ae95 skids on the ice please

The bonnet on my ae95 is raised/spaced off the hinges by about 30mm to allow hot air to escape and improve intercooling. That probaly what you can see in the photo's?

Excellent news re: the supercharger switch!!! That's perfect - exactly what I want..., optional power at the flick of a switch. I'll pick your brains about the details when the time comes.

The ice skids is in this forum somewhere..., I'll find it for ya..

I always wondered why your bonnet was raised at the back - your full of weird tricks.

My plan is FMIC with reverse subie vent at the back of the bonnet facing the window (good demister in winter time!)

Nice what model is that?

I think the guy a bought my second bottom end off was doing up one of these..asked me if I wanted to buy it ..not sure if it was the same model or not..the one I saw had really different pillars at the rear & had been fitted out with alloy bullbar & rear bumper but was just granny spec engine with rwd..

What's your 'other wagon' got in it?

BTW... any chance of a write up either here or in toymods on how to do the supercharger on/off switch?

..with pix of course!

It's an RT142 Corona Wagon. I have ditched the 22re 4 cyl in favor of a 1GGZE supercharged 6cyl with the sc14. But in my quest for more towing torque i am currently undergoing a 1JZGTE VVTI conversion to replace the 1G

Find me a wiring diagram of the 4agze supercharger relay and i will do an edit and do a write up on these forums.

Daily... with a helmet??

I love wagons... my first car was a 1978 Ford Fairmont wagon, which I used to hate because it was brown with fake wood (vinyl stickers) on the sides and an ugly tan / caramel / diarrhea colored interior.  It grew on me, though, and years after selling it, led me to my All-Trac.  So I can't complain

Yeah... years ago when I still had it, a friend of mine wanted to drop a small block V8 in that thing.  I think some people out there dropped bigger V8 engines in them.  Mine was a straight 6 with an automatic, though, which would be one of the few downsides to having one of those wagons again (also, no AC).

How you got this plate? They are freely available? Or is it a decoration that has no "legal force" like trailer's plate?

In Australia we have to pay for these plates & make an application to make sure no one else has already asked for same numbers / letters

Here it costs around $100, and you can use any 7 Number/Letters you want, or less. You can't have a space though. So even if you only had 6 letters you can't have "Back Up" but you can have "BackUp"

Once you have the plate it costs the same amount to renew it as a normal plate year after year, which is about $56 here.

Yeah I gotta agree I wouldn.t be building my wagon in such detail if hadn.t been inspired by Lars & Kev.s rides in the first place

Wow.. havent been on here for quite some time.. Thanks for the kind words guys

These days my wagon rarely sees daylight. I tow it out once a year to the annual ToyotaFest Show which is held by the Toymods guys. Every year it rains and we are shoved into a underground carpark.

Last year i mixed it up a bit and borrowed some crazy JDM wheels off the boys from http://www.gorillaindustries.com.au/.

Wheels are 15" SSR SP1's 8.5" wide +5 offset, wrapped in 195/50's.

What you guys think?

Haha, nuts!  Love it   Just don't roll over any bumps in the road (or just keep the wagon lifted up while driving).

A friend of mine insists I leave mine in a beater state, dented, faded paint, and so forth, for that sleeper look.  I'm almost done with parts acquisition for my 4A-GE build.  Can't wait to finish it up!

Did you try experimenting with the ST185 drivetrain in your wagon?  I think I asked you about this once, but it was a while ago.

Time to flare the guards Kev!
that's about as much tyre as you could fit under an AE95.

It's a pitty you don't drive it a bit more ??
