I think I read somewhere that the Sprinter Caribs were made past 1992 in other countries. So there was most likely a body redesign for later models. That would have been great to see here in the US... more AWD capable vehicles!

I know I've seen Corolla and Camry wagons around that look like 1990's models. But All-Tracs were only here in 88-92 in the body style Dylan just posted ^

Yeah and I think up until 1990(/91?) the Japanese made Corolla All Trac's even for THEIR Domestic market, because thats what my car is. After 1990/91 they started making Sprinter Carib's for domestic and European. They continued to make Sprinter Carib's for the Japanese domestic market until 2001 I believe??

Sprinter Carib (JPN), Corolla Sportswagon (FIN) and Corolla Escape (FRA)

^^^^^^^^^ Thats my understanding of it.

They also started making Lexus IS350 AWD's in 2000 or 2001, so those are going to be available for import soon (See: 2015/16) to Canada! I just realized that the other day, if any car is going to steal me away from these All Trac's, it will be an IS350 AWD. =P

All kidding aside, I'd love to take my All-Trac through some snow. Just to see what it's like to drive through that stuff compared to sand.

Riding on the sand is harder than the snow, I think.

Yeah I would think sand to be harder than snow. I have taken large trucks and quads 4x4ing in the mountains, where you can find sand and snow together and sand is definitely harder to maintain control and keep the power maximized!

I'm sure theres a lengthy explanation for it all but it all boils down to the fact that snow has the tendency to stick together, compact, etc, while sand of course does not.

Then I'm happy to report that the All-Trac eats up sand for breakfast

The few times I've taken it down sandy roads, I think only once I needed to lock the differential. It is somewhat difficult to steer in sand, but when you take it easy, it's not that hard.

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution at a special session on Thursday declaring April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight.
The resolution was initiated by Russia, which celebrates Day of Cosmonautics on April 12 dedicated to the historic first manned flight to space by Russia's Yury Gagarin in 1961.

"Fifty years have passed since that amazing voyage, but the legend of Gagarin's courage and journey to the 'final frontier' continues to be a source of inspiration for space exploration for peoples and nations around the world," Kiyo Akasaka, Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information, was quoted as saying on the UN Website.

A photo exhibit was also opened at the UN headquarters to mark the 50th anniversary of the first human flight to space.

guys, hockey interest anyone? January 29 in Ottawa will be a game of NHL stars of Eastern and Western Conference. I have long dreamed to watch the game San Jose Sharks, New Jersey Devils, NHL stars, but not on TV, and see the game.

Unfortunately Ottawa is a 4 day drive for me, but being in Canada, theres no shortage of hockey up here! =D
