Thanks for sharing!  I go back & forth on what I want to do with my wagon.  Leave it stock, or do a mild turbo (4AFTE), or just a 4AGE (leaving it NA, and buying the highest HP capable model).

Quoted from JedzWagn
The trd shift kit was a piece of cake to fit.

I'm wondering what part number this might be?  If it's available in the US or not.  And what exactly it is (short shifter?)...

Just keep researching... I spent a good 12 - 18months before putting any money down.
Consider your budget - have fun & keep your feet on the ground. I couldn't have done this project a bit over a year ago but then I got a higher paid job company car etc. & had saved some more..

The other good thing about researching is - you can learn the market & find good bargains.

Anyway, after a while you'll get your own idea of what improvements you'd like to make.

TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development.

A shift kit is a replacement gear stick that raises the pivotal point of the gear stick & also shortens the length of the gear stick.

This shortens the distance that you actually have to move your arm around in order to change gears - the by-product is it takes less time for you to change gears - very handy.

Here's some weblinks that'll help..

Expensive huh?

Here's a Do It Yourself guide:

Very nice pics for the mod.  Gives those of us with long-term plans something to hope for.
