All-Trac Wagon Network / Sightings / Not an ad, but...

I spotted a 1988 All Trac at Tim Hortons today, it was white, in very good shape. Owned by a very elderly lady who had a handicap parking sticker. I talked to her for a couple minutes, she said it has about 120,000km on it (70k mi or so), and its her favorite car that shes ever owned! hahaha
I asked if she had the internet and tried to get her to come here, but no luck. ;)
It was in really good shape very little rust, she had covers all over the inside so its probably mint. She was a very proud owner, and when I mentioned leaving her my number in case she wanted to sell it, she laughed and said 'That car will likely still be running long after I'm not' hahaha
Great old lady, had to share the sighting news, sorry I can't share pics...I didn't want to creep her out by taking pics of her car!

Thats funny, I approached an old gal about her alltrac the other day in the grocery store parking lot. I've seen her driving around town. She's not interested in selling it. Might have creeped her out a little too, it helped that I had my kids with me:)

I guess walking up to a complete stranger and complimenting her/him on her/his car might creep anyone out. I saw an out-of-state A-T while at a reunion. I talked approached the owner, who didn't know me and just brushed me off as some "kook" when I commented on their A-T. Oh well, understandable.

there are still a certain number of people who consider AE95s disposable. YouTube provides copious proof of this... :-/

I saw another one today, we were passing each other in opposite directions while in a school zone. It was kind of funny because we were each checking out each other's all trac and kinda smiled at each other, was that one of you? hahah =P
P.S. It was red!

I had a similar experience in when I passed one out of town. It was the first one I had seen (besides mine) in many months. As we approached each other, the other driver glanced over at me and nodded.

@hatchy521:
I saw an A-T in the parking lot to a hotel near the L.A. airport; had Oregon plates. I mentioned to the owner, who was just getting in the car, that it was rare to see those around here. He mumbled something on the order of "yeah" and hastily sped away; I wonder if I creeped him out by randomly approaching him.

It is my Sociological opinion that you did creep him out. hahaha I'm pretty sure the majority of people who drive these things consider them 'beaters' and hold them in an expendable light. Getting a compliment on a car that you hold a very low opinion of would probably creep you out too.
I like talking to strangers, so anytime anyone asks they end up getting a speech, but I'm not your average! haha I think you did well though datsa, if he was creeped out, its more his problem than yours! =P
