Is there any diff on newer models?

I have a AE95 from '90 as a daily driver and it's the perfect car now when winter comes. Never the less: this car was constructed in the eighties and many of the options that you find in newer cars are missing; AC, CC, ABS, airbag, remote locking etc. so I'm considering to go for a 4WD from '98-00.

But: the center diff button that I have seems to be missing on these models!
How come? This function is one of the best features with this car. Or does it have some kind of automatic diff?

All trac vs Subaru

Having owned new and used cars over the years, and a new Subaru Brat in 1982, I consider myself as moderately observant of Subarus. In the late 1980s and early 1990s it seemed the Subaru wagons were everywhere. Now I virtually never see them (of that era) here in NE Georgia. Maybe I am just not very observant. Maybe they all were resold up north in snow country. At the time, I don't think I was even aware that Toyota even made an All trac. Not that I see many Alltracs, but relatively I would think I would see many more Subarus of the same era. But this is just not the case. My question is, are Toyotas of the era more reliable and long-lived than Subaru or am I just not paying attention?

Any Diesel Corolla All-Trac Wagons?

Hello all,

I own an '88 Toyota Corolla, and it's been the best car I've ever owned. I'm from Canada, and drove from Calgary to Prince Edward Island on the east coast and back without a single incident.

Wish only it would have been diesel... Unfortunately, diesel Corollas don't seem to have ever arrived to Canada.

I discovered the Corolla All-Trac wagons, and find them of special interest, given that we're a small family and we travel a lot.

I wonder if there was a Corolla All-Trac wagon with a diesel engine ever available? In what country(es) would have it been released?

...and, of course, I'm now actively looking for a Corolla All-Trac wagon, any offers please let me know.

Cheers from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
